Special Library Opening Hours

Hong Kong Public Libraries will be closed whole day on 18 April 2025 (Good Friday) and will have special opening hours on 19 April (The Day Following Good Friday) and 21 April (Easter Monday).

Maintenance of Library System

There will be suspension of some online services and Self-service Library Stations services from 17 April to 19 April 2025 for the maintenance works of the library system (Details).

Remarks

(1) All libraries (except self-service library stations) will be closed on the following public holidays: New Year's Day, the first three days of the Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
(2) All libraries (except self-service library stations) will be closed at 5:00 p.m. on the following days with the opening time remaining unchanged: New Year's Eve, Chinese New Year's Eve, Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas Eve.
  • When the days mentioned in item (2) above fall on a library closing day, the libraries will be closed.
  • When the days mentioned in item (2) above fall on a Sunday or a public holiday, the Hong Kong Central Library will be closed at 5:00 p.m., while the opening hours of other libraries will be the same as those for Sundays and public holidays respectively.
